Paul Landreth-Smith is the National Director for and Co-owner of Elite Firearms and Self Defense, where he blends firearms use and Krav Maga to train his students realistic defensive situations.

He has 30+ years of martial arts training including a Third Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga. He is also a senior Black Belt in Kickboxing and Tae Kwon-Do, as well as advanced rank in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Aikido.

Paul also has 18 years of experience as a police officer in the United Kingdom including time as a beat cop, riot police officer, and a member the London Counter Terrorist SWAT unit SOC19. His experience spans from firearms instruction, close quarter combat, hostage rescue, covert operations, counter terrorism, breaching, medic training and VIP protection.

Adding just a little more real-world self defense experience, Paul has also spent five years as a doorman and is currently a Paramedic and Senior Field Training Officer at UT Health EMS> in Texas. He is also the Co-Owner of Critical Care First Aid delivering first aid training.

In the areas of security and personal protection, Paul is a graduate of the Personal Protection Officers Course with Masada Tactical in Maryland, is a Texas Personal Protection Officer with several VIP protection deployments, and is involved with training local Police Departments in armed tactics, firearms, and defensive tactics. He is the owner of Live Oak Security which provides security training to businesses and civilian clients.

Paul is also the author of the book "Sheepdog With a Black Belt>" This book explores Paul's experiences, the lessons he learnt and acts as a guide for those looking for what may suit them best to train in or how their existing system would fare in actual combat.
